Pieter Mulier means business at Alaïa continuing to propel the fashion house to new heights. Now with three highly-covetable collections under his belt, Mulier serves up the brand’s advertising campaign for Summer/Fall 2022. Enlisting Belgian photographer Willy Vanderperre and stylist Olivier Rizzo, Mona Tougaard, Mirthe Dijk and Victoria Fawole star in the series of black and white images posing against a white studio backdrop allowing the Fall 2022 collection to do all the talking.
The ads divided our forum members, though. “Depressing. Mona looks like a bored child,” critiqued avonlea002.
“The clothes are really ugly. Mona does not scream Alaïa to me at all, too young-looking and I am not into Vanderperre/Rizzo for the brand,” added a less than impressed GivenchyAddict.
“No amount of creative talent can selvedge such stupid, juvenile designs,” declared Phuel.

“Mona is definitely not giving sexiness, elegance and power here. The whole thing feels quite Zara,” expressed whippie.
Although not everyone shared the same sentiment. “I think the images are great…” approved WAVES.
“I’ve never been one for Willy Vanderperre or Mona Tougaard for that matter, but I am loving this! There’s a stark simplicity to this that I like, love the photographs with a sense of movement and living for Mona’s Tina Turner-esque hair here,” raved vogue28.
“It’s simply stunning! I’m still on the fence regarding Pieter’s vision, but this is quite splendid and glamorous,” admired Lola701.
