There is perhaps no other fashion house on the planet, with as many brand ambassadors as Louis Vuitton and the storied French fashion house is making full use of their ambassadors with the unveiling of its latest handbag advertising campaign. Throwing Chinese actress Elaine Zhong into the mix, ambassadors HoYeon Jung, Deepika Padukone and Léa Seydoux the campaign echoes the values of Vuitton’s mainline Fall 2023 advertising campaign, in an alluring homage to Parisian elegance. Throughout the series of campaign images lensed by photographer Ethan James Green, the ladies were photographed around various different locations within the French capital – toting an array of Louis Vuitton’s GO-14 and Capucines handbag styles.
However, despite the team’s best efforts creating the campaign, members of theFashionSpot forums weren’t so impressed. “It’s giving Michael Kors,” exclaimed BlueRuin.
“If they added a jet, it could have been Michael Kors. But Léa looks great,” chimed in TaylorBinque.
“It’s giving Emily in Paris,” laughed 90sFan.
“WAIT! Is Louis Vuitton a FRENCH brand? You’d never know,” eye rolled forum member Kite.
Kasper simply wasn’t feeling it, commenting: “Even Furla ads are better than this. So dumb.”
“The ones with the Paris backdrops look so poorly Photoshopped,” pointed out Marc10.
Yet not everyone was of the same mind. “For me, Léa Seydoux’s campaign images are the best – love that intense stare of hers. As someone who isn’t French but truly adores all-things France and Parisienne, I am a little bit in love with this to be completely honest. The whole campaign just feels fresh and revitalizing, if admittedly a little… Photoshopped,” confessed vogue28.
