Marc Jacobs stays switching it up when it comes to enlisting photographers for his various different advertising campaigns. Over recent seasons, everyone from Tyler Mitchell and Tyrone Levon to Juergen Teller and Harley Weir have been commissioned to lens campaign imagery for the designer’s eponymous brand. Added to the list with the unveiling of Jacobs’ latest is Carin Backoff. Shining a spotlight upon ‘The Sack Bag’ for Summer 2024, Jacobs endorses a whole plethora of personalities as the face and embodiment of the handbag that launched earlier this year. Sabrina Carpenter, Vittoria Ceretti, Irina Shayk, Anok Yai, Charli XCX and Gabriette make appearances throughout the vibrant and splashy campaign, each styled by Alastair McKimm and captured against a gray backdrop within Backoff’s photographic studio.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“Vittoria and Irina look great! Not sure about the panties, tho,” voiced justaguy.

“Love the photographs! Beautiful and minimal with a pop of hot, bright colors!” MModa admired.

Also very much a fan was vogue28: “The strongest Marc Jacobs campaign in what feels like forever! There’s a sense of life here, feels more… sultry and alive than recent Marc Jacobs campaigns. The casting is great, but would’ve just left it at Vittoria Ceretti, Irina Shayk and Anok Yai. Nevertheless, a thumbs up from me!”

“The girls look great but the products are not desirable…” scoffed forum member thiago.

KoV agreed, exclaiming: “Imagine getting this cast together just to hawk that bag!”

Last night, stars from the world of fashion, film, music and entertainment were out in full force to celebrate the opening of The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” exhibit.

Naturally, the most buzz-worthy spectacle on the fashion calendar generated a vast amount of show-stopping fashion moments for us to sit back and fawn over. The “The Garden of Time” dress code, inspired by a short story from 1962 of the same title by J.G. Ballard could have perhaps been interpreted in a variety of different ways. As expected, however, a whole multitude of archival magic was unearthed and florals for spring actually proved to be somewhat… groundbreaking.

Kim Kardashian requested Maison Margiela’s John Galliano create a haute couture look composed of a pale grey cashmere cardigan, a corset rewoven from antique silver brocade and a skirt in tooled silver metal evoking lace and florals. A staggering 98,000 crystals later and Anok Yai hit the famed steps of the 2024 Met Gala in a custom Swarovski creation while South African singer required a little help up the stairs, essentially donning a Balmain sand sculpture. Zendaya opted for not one but two breathtaking looks. This year’s Met Gala co-host first descended upon the event showcasing a striking ocean-blue gown by John Galliano for Maison Margiela that included a dramatic matching headpiece. The undisputed style icon later ventured up the steps again in a black archival look from Givenchy’s Spring 1996 haute couture collection (designed by the late Alexander McQueen). Inspired by a Richard Avedon photograph, Nicole Kidman asked Balenciaga’s Denma to breath new life into an original monochromatic Cristóbal Balenciaga creation from 1951 while Demi Moore hit all the right notes in a Harris Reed confection.

Needless to say, the 2024 Met Gala did not disappoint. Right here on theFashionSpot, we’ve rounded up 60+ of the most must-see looks. Scroll further for the most show-stopping fashion moments of the night:

2022 Met Gala

After skipping 2020 and scaling back a bit in 2021, we expected the 2022 Met Gala to really bring the drama. Not to mention the fashion. Thankfully, we aren’t disappointed.

Continuing the theme of “In America: An Anthology of Fashion,” there was plenty of gilded glamour. There were corsets, structured skirts and opera gloves galore. But there were several stars who either downright ignored the theme or tried to put a modern spin on it. For example, Janelle Monáe’s Ralph Lauren look was a futuristic interpretation.

We spotted a surprising amount of cut-out accents. We were also taken aback by the sheer volume of see-through sections. (See what we did there?) Kim Kardashian certainly turned heads decked out in Marilyn Monroe’s iconic Jean Louis dress.

Both Blake Lively and Sydney Sweeney did an outfit reveal on the red carpet. The former rocked two Atelier Versace creations that paid tribute to the Statue of Liberty. The latter transformed her Tory Burch gown into a minidress.

Suits were also popular. Cara Delevingne, Irina Shayk and Chloë Grace Moretz all stepped out in striking style. It was actually a welcome contrast to all the dynamic dresses.

It’s definitely worth your time to scroll down to see all the crazy, sexy and totally cool looks from the 2022 Met Gala.

Glitzy dresses and see-through gowns were both trending at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards with varying levels of success. Stars like Jennifer Lopez, Karlie Kloss and Olivia Munn shined in sparkling pieces, while Tiffany Haddish, Shanina Shaik and Rita Ora played a little peekaboo. Black and white reigned supreme, but color still found its way to the red pink carpet with one dynamic dress filling the quota all on its own. The beauty looks were also noteworthy with exaggerated eyeshadow, a bounty of bangs and eye-catching red lips. Check out all the award show action in the slideshow above.

Sorry to disappoint the Jelena fans out there, but Selena Gomez hit the red carpet at last night’s 2017 American Music Awards minus her rumored on-again beau Justin Bieber. But she had another surprise in store: she’s now a blonde. With her edgy Coach dress, Selena was in step with the evening’s black outfit trend. Short, sheer, wrapped or glamleisure-inspired, the dark hue was definitely popular. There was also plenty of sparkle with sequins lighting up the red carpet en masse, even in the form of accessories. In case you missed the ceremony, check out all the fashion highlights in the slideshow above.

The lessons we learned this season involve everything from how to recalculate the equation for pajama dressing during the daytime to new ways to spell out our love of logos and fresh game plans for working athleisure into our office wardrobe. So get ready to take notes as we review the best front row fashion from New York Fashion Week Fall 2017.
