Marc Jacobs stays switching it up when it comes to enlisting photographers for his various different advertising campaigns. Over recent seasons, everyone from Tyler Mitchell and Tyrone Levon to Juergen Teller and Harley Weir have been commissioned to lens campaign imagery for the designer’s eponymous brand. Added to the list with the unveiling of Jacobs’ latest is Carin Backoff. Shining a spotlight upon ‘The Sack Bag’ for Summer 2024, Jacobs endorses a whole plethora of personalities as the face and embodiment of the handbag that launched earlier this year. Sabrina Carpenter, Vittoria Ceretti, Irina Shayk, Anok Yai, Charli XCX and Gabriette make appearances throughout the vibrant and splashy campaign, each styled by Alastair McKimm and captured against a gray backdrop within Backoff’s photographic studio.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“Vittoria and Irina look great! Not sure about the panties, tho,” voiced justaguy.

“Love the photographs! Beautiful and minimal with a pop of hot, bright colors!” MModa admired.

Also very much a fan was vogue28: “The strongest Marc Jacobs campaign in what feels like forever! There’s a sense of life here, feels more… sultry and alive than recent Marc Jacobs campaigns. The casting is great, but would’ve just left it at Vittoria Ceretti, Irina Shayk and Anok Yai. Nevertheless, a thumbs up from me!”

“The girls look great but the products are not desirable…” scoffed forum member thiago.

KoV agreed, exclaiming: “Imagine getting this cast together just to hawk that bag!”

Vogue Singapore was the 27th international edition of Vogue to come to fruition back in 2020. Early last year, Desmond Lim was installed as editor-in-chief (replacing Norman Tan). In the past year, the magazine has been able to count the likes of Niki Zefanya, Taeyang, Jennie Kim, Kiko Mizuhara and Deepika Padukone as cover stars. Issue #30 for April 2024 sees Lim champion the princess of pop that is Charli XCX. Fresh from shooting Naomi Campbell for Vogue Greece, Nick Knight was commissioned to profile the British singer-songwriter, complete with Konca Aykan reporting for styling duties. In the stylized cover photograph, the hit maker is dressed by Aykan in a floor-length number from Matthieu Blazy’s Spring 2024 Bottega Veneta collection.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“OMG, I want it now,” shrieked Kimy Jo.

“I love Charli XCX and this Vogue edition. However, this cover makes me sad. It’s strange because Charli’s music persona is full of life yet they didn’t embrace that for her first Vogue cover shoot. The green color confused me at first because it doesn’t go well with the photo,” shared crmsn.

Callmejaden agreed, commenting: “Love Charli, but I’m not a fan of the cover!”

“That dress is making my skin crawl,” Urban Stylin exclaimed.

“Massively here for this surge of Nick Knight we seem to be getting lately. First Naomi Campbell for Vogue Greece, Kim Kardashian for Skims and now Charli XCX for Vogue Singapore. That being said, this cover does nothing for me. Too dark and gloomy for my taste and that lime green masthead is truly hideous. Halloween isn’t until October!” voiced vogue28.

The Fashion Awards 2021

The Fashion Awards 2021 were held last night in London. Virgil Abloh was clearly on everyone’s mind after news broke over the weekend of the innovative designer’s sudden passing. (He was also an honoree at this year’s ceremony.)

On the fashion front, a mix of actors, models and singers graced the red carpet sporting some truly eye-catching ensembles. Richard Quinn was literally everywhere. Those boldly floral patterned pieces are pretty easy to spot. Everyone from Priyanka Chopra to Billy Porter flaunted the designer’s statement creations. But Gabrielle Union really stole the spotlight decked out in a neon Valentino Fall 2021 Haute Couture gown.

We definitely expect to see some truly crazy looks at MTV’s Video Music Awards. But this year’s ceremony may just be the craziest. From an ostrich feather hat to a spoon accent, the attendees at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards were obviously going for shock value. After all, skin was certainly in. Just ask Megan Fox who rocked a barely-there Mugler creation. Jennifer Lopez also got in on the action by sporting a lace-up David Koma ensemble. Top model Adut Akech played a little peekaboo, too. We were treated to a couple of haute couture looks. Courtesy of Kacey Musgraves, Camila Cabello and Olivia Rodrigo. Kacey finished off her purple Valentino minidress with the matching topper and red gloves. Camila’s Alexis Mabille gown boasted a big bow. And Olivia’s Atelier Versace stunner came from the brand’s Spring 2001 collection. Scroll down to see all the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards looks that turned heads.

There was the usual mix of models, actors, singers, designers and social media influencers at this year’s The Fashion Awards aka the British Fashion Awards. While we were treated to pops of color courtesy of Rihanna, Emilia Clarke and newly minted Model of the Year Adut Akech, the majority of the red carpet looks were pretty black and white. But sequins, ethereal layers and cut-outs kept things interesting. The real scene-stealers were the puffer gown and puffer skirt worn by Shailene Woodley and Liya Kebede, respectively.

See who won big below (one designer really cleaned up), then check out the slideshow above to see who wore what.

The 2019 amfAR Gala Cannes featured the usual array of models, actresses and musicians. But this year, the annual gala made headlines because it served as the official launch of the new Giambattista Valli x H&M collection. Everyone from Kendall Jenner to H.E.R. was outfitted in the tulle-focused collab, which partially drops tomorrow (the full collection won’t be available until November 7). Those not on promotional duty embraced some OTT silhouettes. Dua Lipa stood out in a fiery Valentino haute couture gown and Sara Sampaio’s feathered Armani Privé also made quite a statement. And the naked dress is still going strong with several peekaboo pieces popping up on the gray carpet. Check out the slideshow above to see who wore what at the gala.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - MAY 06: Lady Gaga attends The 2019 Met Gala Celebrating Camp: Notes on Fashion at Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 06, 2019 in New York City. (Photo by Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images for The Met Museum/Vogue)

With this year’s Camp: Notes on Fashion theme, we expected stars to bring the crazy drama. And boy, did they deliver on the OTT front. From Lady Gaga going through several wardrobe changes — all on the pink carpet, no less — to Zendaya’s light up Cinderella dress to Katy Perry looking pretty lit, it was go big or go home.

And it wasn’t just the clothes stealing all the thunder. Ciara won for biggest and baddest hair of the night, while Hailey Bieber went with an old-fashioned ‘do and props to Tessa Thompson for working her extra long braid like a whip. Plus, the guys really came to play, even when it came to makeup. (Kudos to Darren Criss for his daring eye makeup.) We must give a special shout-out to Billy Porter, whose Cleopatra-like entrance almost upstaged Gaga’s performance. Almost.

The outfits at this year’s festival were pretty much as expected. (Except for Beyoncé’s Balmain stage getups, which slayed…twice.) While cutoffs and crop tops were practically everywhere, double denim was another big trend. We also spotted lots of Victoria’s Secret models sporting Victoria’s Secret gear (natch) — it pays to represent a brand at Coachella. While the second weekend wasn’t as jam-packed with stars, the second round of Beyoncé did bring out a few heavy hitters that were missing in action from weekend one. For all the festival fashion highlights, check out the slideshow above.

If Vanessa Hudgens is the queen of Coachella, Alexa Chung takes the crown for Glastonbury. Just like previous years, the designer/style influencer was all over Worthy Farm, donning several eye-catching outfits. From a Western-themed ensemble to kick things off to peekaboo polka dots and a smiling colorblocked jumper, she brought a wide range of looks to Glastonbury. Other celebs favored wellies (natch) along with music and character tees. Backpacks were a must-have to tote around all the festival necessities and rain macs proved to be a smart investment since the weather on the farm can be pretty unpredictable. For all the festival’s fashion highlights, scroll through the slideshow above.

If you were expecting some crazy getups for this year’s Grammys, you were left sorely disappointed. Sure, Lady Gaga cranked the insanity up just about as high as it would go in a barely-there embellished bolero and short shorts capped off by thigh-high boots, but the majority of attendees kept things relatively low-key. Rihanna rocked an eye-catching orange crop top teamed with a full ballgown black skirt by Armani Privé and Adele stood out in one of Riccardo Tisci’s final Givenchy creations. Showing skin was definitely in with most celebs restraining themselves to extended slits, but a few daring souls flaunted more unconventional peekaboo details. While it was certainly Beyoncé’s night to shine as she performed in grand fashion after announcing to the world she was carrying twins, we were mesmerized by Solange Knowles’ golden Gucci moment (and Blue Ivy’s hot pink suit). Check out the slideshow above for all the fashion highlights from this year’s Grammys.
