A dramatic statement, compared to the year 2017 when the industry fave graced a total of 7 different editions of the fashion bible. Following a brief hiatus from the spotlight, Bella makes a return to the cover of Vogue Italia with the unveiling of the magazine’s April 2024 installment, 11 months after her last. The American beauty who is set to launch her own makeup brand next month, welcomes us onto the Hadid family farm. Captured by photographer Zoë Ghertner, Bella poses atop Dallas the horse in the cover photograph, dressed by stylist Alex Harrington in a floor-length look from Balenciaga.

Bella poses for photographer Bryce Anderson and is styled by Katie Grand (both of which were chosen specially by Hadid for the occasion) across each of the collectable covers.

So when the model went to a Balenciaga dinner during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week Fall 2022, we took notice. Naturally she was decked out in the famous fashion house favoring statement-making polka dot pieces, including a jacquard shirt worn off the shoulder and matching flowing pants.

Now all we can think about is replicating the look. Although we’re swapping the pants for shorts because heat wave. We’re also setting our sights on all variations of the classic pattern. Good thing there are lots of options. From a fancy take on a slip dress to a flossed midi skirt and even matching sets, there’s something for every day of the week.

Traditionally, the darling dots come in black and white. But we’re not limiting ourselves to two colors. Red, blue, beige and an orangish brown are great alternatives. The size of the dots also varies. Embrace larger circumferences to make a big impression. Or go smaller for a subtler approach. Feel free to mix and match from top to bottom.

After skipping 2020 and scaling back for 2021 due to the pandemic, the 2022 Cannes International Film Festival is back in full force. Which is great for us since it usually produces fashion moments on par with the Met Gala and the Oscars. Although we have to admit, a decent amount of looks were relatively lackluster.

When it comes to designers, certain ones reigned supreme. We witnessed several dresses from Valentino’s Fall 2022 offering, aka the pink collection, take to the red carpet. Sharon Stone stuck with Dolce & Gabbana probably because she stars in the Italian fashion house’s new handbag campaign. As usual, there were plenty of haute couture looks to go around. Fendi, Armani Privé, Elie Saab, Christian Dior and Chanel are just a small sampling. Custom creations were also trending with Cara Delevingne’s revealing Balmain gown one of the standouts.

The jewelry was also something to behold. Especially when it came to necklaces. Julianne Moore’s Bottega Veneta dress was amplified by Bulgari’s Eden The Garden of Wonders necklace, for example.

On the beauty front, hair really turned heads. Bella Hadid’s wet-look hairdo with sculpted strands in the middle of her forehead really made a statement. As did Grace Elizabeth’s piecey pixie.

After skipping 2020 and scaling back a bit in 2021, we expected the 2022 Met Gala to really bring the drama. Not to mention the fashion. Thankfully, we aren’t disappointed.

Continuing the theme of “In America: An Anthology of Fashion,” there was plenty of gilded glamour. There were corsets, structured skirts and opera gloves galore. But there were several stars who either downright ignored the theme or tried to put a modern spin on it. For example, Janelle Monáe’s Ralph Lauren look was a futuristic interpretation.

We spotted a surprising amount of cut-out accents. We were also taken aback by the sheer volume of see-through sections. (See what we did there?) Kim Kardashian certainly turned heads decked out in Marilyn Monroe’s iconic Jean Louis dress.

Both Blake Lively and Sydney Sweeney did an outfit reveal on the red carpet. The former rocked two Atelier Versace creations that paid tribute to the Statue of Liberty. The latter transformed her Tory Burch gown into a minidress.

Suits were also popular. Cara Delevingne, Irina Shayk and Chloë Grace Moretz all stepped out in striking style. It was actually a welcome contrast to all the dynamic dresses.
